What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(FOOTWAY ADJACENT TO SOUTH-WEST SIDE OF THE A57 / SANDY LANE ROUNDABOUT, WORKSOP)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2023 (BS23-207)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of highway at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. No person shall proceed in the following length of footway:
unnamed footway south-west side of the A57 / Sandy Lane roundabout – from its junction with High Grounds Road, Rhodesia in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 100 metres.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above highway will apply as follows:

From 08:00 hours on Monday 9th October 2023
Until 18:00 hours on Sunday 22nd October 2023

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

using the footway which joins with the northern end of the closure

The Order will come into force on 9th October 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable National Grid to carry out cable diversion works.
