Benton Road - Temporary Traffic Regulation to Allow Works to Be Carried Out on or Near the Highway

What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (BENTON ROAD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 5th October 2023 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit all vehicles from proceeding southbound on Benton Road between Manor Road and Fairway Avenue.

2. Appropriate traffic management will be in place during the closure.

3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.

4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works.

5. The Order will come into operation on 15th October 2023 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for 1 day or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier. (However it is anticipated that the closure will only be required for approximately 1 hour within the period the Order is made for).
