What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Footpath 89, Purton; from its junction with Restrop Road to its junction with Footpath 90, Purton to enable to undertake works associated with planning permission. Alternative route using the public rights of way network and highway network. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for 06 months. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Footpath 51A (Part) Calne Without; for a distance of approximately 20m either side of bridge to enable works programme for repairs to make bridge safe. Alternative route via existing alternative highways and rights of way. This closure which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 09 October 2023 and the closure will be required for 06 months. Orders A) and B) will have a maximum duration of 06 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

Alternative route via C253 (unaffected length) - A360 - C20 - B3098 - C253 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 November 2023 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600. B) Norton Road (Part), Easton Grey; from its junction with B4040 to its property known as The River House to enable Gigaclear to carry out work to clear blockages and other associated works. Alternative route via Norton Road (unaffected length) - Foxley Road - Easton Town Road - B4040 and vice versa. C) Woodlands Road (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Brook Street to its junction with Loyalty Street to enable Wessex Water to carry out works to rectify a defective cover and other associated works. Alternative route via Loyalty Street - Audley Road - Canterbury Street - Woodlands Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 31 October 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. This Order will come into operation on 31 October 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 for 1 day. E) Lowden (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Palmer Street to its junction with Pavely Close to enable Wales & West Utilities Ltd to carry out gas mains replacement and associated works. Alternative route northbound via Lowden (unaffected length) - A4 - A420 - Audley Road. Alternative route southbound via Lowden (unaffected length) - Lowden Hill - A4. F) Station Road (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with New Road to its junction with Nore Marsh Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, road marking replacement, ironwork adjustment and other associated works. Alternative route via Station Road (unaffected length) - A3102 - New Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 November 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: G) A345 (Part), Upavon; from its junction with Andover Road to its junction with Rushall Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, patching works, road marking, adjustment of ironworks and associate works. Alternative route via A345 (unaffected length) -B3087 - A338 - A342 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 18 October 2023. H) C1 (Part), Easton Grey; from its junction with B4040 to its junction with C68 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out stone masonry bridge parapet repair and associated works. Alternative route via C68 (unaffected length) - C27 - B4040 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 October 2023 and the closure will be required until 13 October 2023. For further information please contact Milestone on behalf of Wiltshire Council on 07743 981718. Orders A) to H) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, CALNE) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that on 27 September 2023 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on Anchor Road, Bentley Grove, Brewers Lane, Hill Croft, Mill Street, Priestly Grove, Saddle Back Close, The Glebe and Vicarage Close, Calne - the complete lengths. Following a decision from the Cabinet Member for Transport, Waste, Street Scene and Flooding amendments have been made to remove the proposals previously advertised on Sandy Ridge, Calne. A copy of the Orders can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 9 October 2023
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PURTON 94 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICTAION ORDER 2023
The above named Order, was confirmed as made on 29th September 2023 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.Its affect is to divert the public right of way over the land situate at Sparswell Farm, Bagbury Lane,SN5 4LX in the parish of Purton, from its current position leading from its southern junction with Bagbury Lane at OS Grid Reference SU 08310 86715, in a north north easterly direction for approximately 190 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 08408 86873 with a recorded width of 0.6 metres, to an alternative route leading from OS Grid Reference SU 08408 86873, in a generally east south easterly direction for approximately 50 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 08452 86846 and continuing in a generally south south westerly direction for approximately 205 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 08384 86654 at its southern junction with Bagbury Lane, having a width of 3 metres. The order will alter the Cricklade and Wootton Bassett Rural District Council definitive map and statement dated 1952 accordingly. A copy of the Order may be seen free of charge at the offices of Wiltshire Council, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN (0900 to 1700 weekdays) by appointment. The order came into force on 29th September 2023, but if any persons aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity , or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 5th October 2023, make an application to the High Court. Wiltshire Council has also certified on 27th September 2023 that the work to bring the new path into a fit condition for use by the public as per part 2 of the schedule to the order has been completed and the path has become a highway maintainable at public expense.
