1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham ("the Council") on 2 October 2023 made the above Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to designate disabled resident parking places for use only by persons who are resident within the Canning Town, Custom House, East Ham, East Ham South West, Green Street North, Little llford, Market Street, Monega, Plaistow North, Plaistow South, Prince Regent, Stratford and Upton Park Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), who meet the current criteria for the provision of parking places for disabled persons and who have been issued disabled resident parking permits for their vehicles. Certain other vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g., to load or unload goods or pick up or set down passengers. A single parking place will be designated at each of the locations listed below. (NOTE - At locations where an 'overlap' is also stated, the parking place will overlap the frontage of the adjacent property numbers, by up to 1 metre):-
Canning Town Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 50 to 60 Bridgeland Road E16;
Custom House Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 50/52 Ripley Road E16;
East Ham Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 285 & 287 Burges Road E6, Nos. 104 & 106 Caledon Road E6 and No. 114 Shelley Avenue E12 (overlaps No.116);
East Ham South West Controlled Parking Zone - No.13 Masterman Road E6 and Nos. 94 & 96 Stokes Road E6;
Green Street North Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 128 & 130 Studley Road E7;
Little llford Controlled Parking Zone - Opposite Nos. 56 & 58 Grantham Road E12;
Market Street Controlled Parking Zone - No. 26 Bartle Avenue E6 (overlaps Nos. 24 & 28);
Monega Controlled Parking Zone - No. 127 Halley Road E7 (overlaps No. 125), No. 385 Halley Road E12 (overlaps Nos. 383 & 387) and No. 164 Sherrard Road E7 (overlaps Nos. 162 & 166); Plalstow North Controlled Parking Zone - No. 28 Chesterton Road E13 (overlaps No. 26);
Plaistow South Controlled Parking Zone - No. 32 Fenton's Avenue E13 (overlaps No. 34);
Prince Regent Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 31 & 33 Cumberland Road E13, Nos. 4 & 6 Glen Road E13 and Nos. 110 & 112 Ravenscroft Road E16;
Stratford Controlled Parking Zone - Nos. 85 & 86 Chatsworth Road E15, No. 4 Globe Road E15 (overlaps No. 2) and Opposite No. 3 Rosher Close E15; and
Upton Park Controlled Parking Zone - No. 14 Lucas Avenue E13 (overlaps No. 12).
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 9 October 2023 and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection by appointment during normal office hours at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, by telephoning 020 3373 6415 or by emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
