A6 Trunk Road, Alvaston, Derby -Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
SECTIONS 14(1)(a) AND (7)
THE A6 TRUNK ROAD (ALVASTON, DERBY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A6 Trunk Road at Alvaston, in the City of Derby and the County of Derbyshire, to allow utility work to be carried out on the local authority network. The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) close the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A6 to Shardlow Road, at Alvaston; and
(2) prohibit vehicles from leaving the roundabout junction of the A6, the B5010 and Shardlow Road, at its junction with Shardlow Road, at Alvaston.
The closure and prohibition will be in place 24 hours a day and are expected to start at 07:30 hours on Monday 30 October 2023 and continue for approximately three weeks. The Order will come into force on 23 October 2023.
Vehicles being used by police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closure and prohibition.
A diversion route via the A6, Shardlow Road and the A5111 Raynesway will be signed.
