What is happening?

The Clink and East Quay, Bridgwater in the Parish of Bridgwater

(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that on the 29th day of September 2023 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 19th day of September 2023, to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on the roads specified in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 3rd day of October and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 11th day of October 2023 until the 25th day of October 2023 to enable Gas Transportation Company safe access to carry out works to excavate and then connect a gas supply to a new development. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

The Clink, Bridgwater - From its junction with The Leggar in a westerly direction to its junction with East Quay.

Schedule 2

Temporary Banned Left Turn

East Quay, Bridgwater- From East Quay onto The Clink.

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
