What is happening?

CASTLE POINT BOROUGH COUNCIL

(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Castle Point Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 32 & 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers propose to make the above Order.

Effect of the Order:

1. To add the Knightswick Shopping Centre Car Park, Canvey Island to the Borough of Castle Point (Off Street Parking Places) (General) Order 2013 Schedule 1- List of car parks, i.e

Long Stay Car Park

The Knightswick Car Park, Canvey Island

2. To add the Knightswick Shopping Centre Car Park, Canvey Island to the Borough of Castle Point (Off Street Parking Places) (General) Order 2013 Schedule 2 - Car Park and Parking Places tariff and waiting restrictions, i.e.

Name of car park - Car Park Category - Charging Hours - Car Park Charge

Knightswick Shopping Centre Car Park, Canvey Island

Long Stay Car Park

Monday - Wednesday 08.00 - 20.00, Thursday - Friday 08.00 - 21.00, Saturday - 08.00 - 20.00

Up to 1 hour £0.30, Up to 2 hours £0.50, Up to 3 hours £0.60, Up to 4 hours £0.80, Up to 5 hours £1.50, Over 5 hours £10.00

This Proposed Order may be incorporated into the Borough of Castle Point (Off Street Parking Places) (General) Order 2013

Further details: A copy of the Order to be amended, together with a copy of this Notice and a Statement of Reasons for proposing the amendment, can be viewed at Castle Point Borough Council, Council Offices, Kiln Road, Thundersley, Benfleet, Essex, SS7 1TF or are available online at www.castlepoint.gov.uk or copies can be sent by email or post by emailing tbragg@castlepoint.gov.uk or writing to the address at the end of this notice.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order, or write in support of it, you should either send an email to tbragg@castlepoint.gov.uk or write to the undersigned stating the reasons for your objection or support by 21 October 2023 (21 days after publication of this notice).

All representations made will be duly considered by the Council before it determines whether the proposed amendment to the Order should be made as advertised, modified with less restrictive provisions, or withdrawn.
