Rochford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Various Roads, Rochford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of Clearway) (Streetworks No.55) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Rochford as detailed in the Schedule.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of road as specified in the schedule for the duration of the closures in order to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works are scheduled to commence after 21st September 2023, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while fibre optic installation works are undertaken by City Fibre.

The Order came into effect on 21st September 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

High Mead, Hawkwell - From its junction with Hockley Rise to its junction with The Westerings a distance of approximately 120m – The Westerings, Claybrick Avenue, Hockley Rise and vice versa

Sunny Road, Hawkwell – From its junction with The Westerings to its end a distance of approximately 190m – No diversion available

Thorpe Road, Hawkwell – From its junction with Main Road to its end a distance of approximately 285m – No diversion available

Poplars Avenue, Hawkwell – From its junction with Main Road to its junction with Woodside Chase a distance of approximately 230m – Woodside Chase, Elmwood Avenue, Hawkwell Chase, Tudor Way, Main Road and vice versa

Station Road, Hockley – From its junction with Gladstone Road to its junction with Spa Road a distance of approximately 225m – Gladstone Road, Great Eastern Road, Southend Road, Spa Road and vice versa.

Great Eastern Road, Hockley, From its junction with Station Road to its junction with Southend Road a distance of approximately 270m – Southend Road, Spa Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Woodside Chase, Hawkwell – From a point approximately 215m west then north west of its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 200m to its end – Poplars Avenue, Main Road, Tudor Way, Hawkwell Chase, Elmwood Avenue and vice versa
