What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Great Clover Leaze, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Great Clover Leaze which extends from a point 27m north of Barton Walk generally northwards for 20m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon water mains laying works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 9 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.

Alternative route: Great Clover Leaze (parts unaffected), Colts Ground and vice versa

(Public Footpath KW/23/20, Hanham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath KW/23/20 which extends from a point 40m north of Wesley Avenue northwards for 75m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with sewer maintenance works. The order will be operative from 1 November 2023 for a maximum period of six months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration.

Alternative route: Wesley Avenue, Wilshire Avenue, Woodyleaze Drive and vice versa

(Berkeley Road and Pleasant Road, Staple Hill) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this notice.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 30 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works It is anticipated that the works relating to each location will be carried out on the dates specified in relation to each length of road in column 2 of the said Schedule 1. See Schedule 2 for alternative routes.

(Featherbed Lane and Camp Road, Oldbury-on-Severn) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with underground structure maintenance works. 
The order became operative from 9 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Schedule: Featherbed Lane – from Camp Road north westwards for 100m Camp Road – from Featherbed Lane northwards for 50m.

(Rock Lane, Stoke Gifford) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Rock Lane which extends from a point 100m east of Field Farm Close generally eastwards for 30m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon fire hydrant replacement works on or adjacent to the highway.

The order will be operative from 30 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.

Alternative route: Rock Lane (parts unaffected), North Road and vice versa

(Cann Lane, North Common) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the entire length of Cann Lane.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon national grid reinforcement scheme works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 9 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 12 days duration.

Alternative route: Homeapple Hill, Bath Road and vice versa

(The Street, Acton Turville) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of The Street which extends from a point 50m north of Littleton Drew Road northwards for 50m.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon lead pipe replacement works on or adjacent to the highway.

The order became operative from 10 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are
in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.

Alternative route: The Street (parts unaffected), Badminton Road, Sodbury Road, Old Sodbury Road and vice versa

(Slaits Road, Badminton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Slaits Road which extends from Roach’s Lane to The Limes.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon fire hydrant installation works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 10 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Badminton Road, B4039, B4040, A46 Stroud Road and vice versa

(Public Footpath OTH/110/50, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath OTH/110/50.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon footpath construction works. The order will be operative from 23 October 2023 for a maximum period of six months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration.

Alternative route: OTH/111/20, OTH/111/50, Morton Way and vice versa
