Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
Attlee Way, Sittingbourne. ME10 2XA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow vegetation clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Attlee Way, Sittingbourne, on or after 29th October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 06.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Burnham Close and Eclipse Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Street, B2005 Grovehurst Road and vice versa.
Breach Lane, Upchurch. ME9 7PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow bridge repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Breach Lane, Upchurch, on or after 23rd October 2023, for up to 4 days, between the hours of 22.00 and 05.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A2 Hartlip Hill, London Road, Moor Street, Otterham Quay Lane, Horsham Lane, The Street, Halstow Lane, The Street, Breach Lane and vice versa.
Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne. ME10 2JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, on or after 24th October 2023, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 84, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is:-
For vehicles travelling North - A2 London Road, St Michaels Road, Crown Quay Lane, B2006 Eurolink Way, Mill Way, King Street, St Pauls Street, Staplehurst Road.
For vehicles travelling South - B2006 Staplehurst Road, St Pauls Street, King Street, Mill Way, Eurolink Way, Crown Quay Lane, A2 St Michaels Road, Dover Street, West Street, London Road.
Charles Street, Sheerness. ME12 1SY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charles Street, Sheerness, on or after 10th October 2023, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 8a, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Chapel Street, A249 Brielle Way, Sheppey Street and vice versa.
Church Lane, Newington. ME9 7LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Newington, from 01.30 hours on 29th October 2023, with estimated completion by 04.00 hours on 30th October 2023, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A2 High Street, Hartlip Hill, Breach Lane, Bricklands, School Lane and vice versa.
Cyprus Road, Faversham. ME13 8HQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PARKING, TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION, TEMPORARY ONE-WAY REVERSAL) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cyprus Road, Faversham, on or after 9th October 2023, for up to 1 day, between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Minster Road and Whitstable Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
To facilitate the diversion route the following restrictions will be required:-
The One-Way Order on Minster Road between Cyprus Road and Westgate Road will be reversed. Vehicles will be allowed to travel Eastbound only.
The One-Way Order on Westgate Road between Whitstable Road and Minster Road will be suspended. Vehicles will be allowed to travel Northbound and Southbound to allow access in and out of the estate.
The parking on Westgate Road will be suspended (no stopping or waiting) between Whitstable Road and Minster Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Minster Road and Westgate Road.
High Street & Leysdown Road, Eastchurch. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, SUSPENSION OF RIGHT TURN & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow street lighting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Eastchurch, on or after 23rd October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Cheyne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Leysdown Road, Eastchurch - to facilitate the diversion route, the No Right Turn from Leysdown Road onto B2331 Rowetts Way and the One-Way Order for vehicles travelling North into Eastchurch will be suspended.
There will be multiway lights at the junction to manage traffic movements.
The alternative route is via A2500 Lower Road, B2231 Rowetts Way, Leysdown Road and vice versa.
Holywell Lane, Upchurch. ME9 7DA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow pole testing to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Holywell Lane, Upchurch, on or after 9th October 2023, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Halstow Lane (Forge Lane), The Street (Forge Lane), Breach Lane and vice versa.
Iwade Road, Newington. ME9 7JY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow pole testing to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Iwade Road, Newington, on or after 25th October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Stickfast Lane and Snakesbury Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Iwade Road, School Lane, Boxted Lane, Breach Lane, The Street (Forge Lane), Sheerness Road, Basser Hill and vice versa.
Pond Farm Road, Borden. ME9 8LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pond Farm Road, Borden, on or after 23rd October 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Pond House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Sutton Baron Road, Wrens Road, Hearts Delight, Bannister Hill, The Street and vice versa.
Priory Row & Barnfield Road, Faversham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Priory Row & Barnfield Road, Faversham, on or after 24th October 2023, with estimated completion by 29th October 2023.
Priory Row will be closed between Ham Road and Barnfield Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Barnfield Road will be closed at the junction with Priory Row, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles accessing Priory Row is via Davington Hill, Dark Hill, Bysing Wood Road, B2045 Western Link, Oare Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for vehicles accessing Barnfield Road is via Davington Hill, Curtis Way, West Street, B2040 North Lane, Bridge Road, Bramblehill Road and Reedland Crescent.
The alternative route for vehicles accessing from Barnfield Road onto Priory Way is via Reedland Crescent, Bramblehill Road, Brent Road and Brent Hill.
Rook Lane, Bobbing. ME9 8GS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rook Lane, Bobbing, on or after 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 24th November 2023, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with A2 Keycol Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Cold Harbour Lane, Bobbing Hill, A2 Key Street Roundabout, Keycol Hill and vice versa.
Scocles Road, Minster-on-Sea. ME12 3RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Scocles Road, Minster-on-Sea, on or after 23rd October 2023, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Elm Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Scocles Road, A2500 Forty Acres Hill, Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Chequers Road, High Street, Back Lane and vice versa.
Seasalter Road & Cleve Hill, Graveney. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic as follows:-
Seasalter Road will be closed from 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 25th October 2023.
Cleve Hill will be closed from 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 3rd November 2023.
The road will be closed at the junction where they meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling North on Seasalter Road is via Head Hill, Whitstable Road, A299 Thanet Way, A2990 Thanet Way, B2205 Borstal Hill, Joy Lane and Faversham Road.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling South on Seasalter Road is via Faversham Road, Joy Lane, B2205 Borstal Hill, A2990 Thanet Way, A290 Clapham Hill, A299 Thanet Way, Staple Street, Staple Street Road, Whitstable Road and Head Hill.
There is no alternative route for Cleve Hill, however, access will be maintained for residents when it is safe to do so.
Staple Street & Staplestreet Road, Hernhill. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staple Street & Staplestreet Road, Hernhill, on or after 12th October 2023, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between The Street and Fairbrook, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via The Street, Stockers Hill, Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Brenley Corner, A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable Road, Staple Street Road and vice versa.
Station Road, Teynham. ME9 9SB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Teynham, on or after 23rd October 2023, for up to 5 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between A2 London Road and Frognal Gardens, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A2 London Road, Frognal Lane, Lower Road and vice versa.
Stockers Hill, Rodmersham. ME9 0PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stockers Hill, Rodmersham, on or after 15th October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Stockers Brow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Eastchurch, on or after 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 31st December 2023.

Warden Road will be closed from 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 26th November 2023.
The road will be closed between the High Street and a property called The Nest, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street, A2500 Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Chequers Road, Plough Road and vice versa.
High Street, Eastchurch
High Street will be closed from 30th October 2023, with estimated completion by 10th December 2023.
The road will be closed between Leysdown Road and Lower Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A2500 Lower Road, B2331 Rowetts Way, Leysdown Road and vice versa.
Leysdown Road, Eastchurch - to facilitate the diversion route, the No Right Turn from Leysdown Road onto B2331 Rowetts Way and the One-Way Order for vehicles travelling North into Eastchurch will be suspended.

Cheyne Road will be closed from 13th November 2023, with estimated completion by 3rd December 2023.
