What is happening?

THE BRENT (FREE PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (NO. 5) ORDER 2023

THE BRENT (PARKING PLACES) (CHALKHILL ROAD PAY ZONE) (NO. 1) ORDER 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent on 25th September 2023, having given further consideration to the proposals (as advertised in the notice of proposals dated 11th May 2023) to revoke the existing, no longer required, disabled parking place outside No. 113 Chalkhill Road, HA9 9FX (and for which notice was given on 19th June 2023 that the Council had deferred making a decision) made the above mentioned Orders under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985, the Parking Acts of 1986 and 1989 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.

2. The general effect of the 'Disabled Persons Parking Places' Order will be to revoke the existing, no longer required, disabled parking place outside No. 113 Chalkhill Road, HA9 9FX.

3. The general effect of the 'Parking Places' Order will be to increase in length the existing pay parking place in Chalkhill Road following the revocation of the no longer required disabled persons parking place as mentioned in paragraph 2 above.

4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 9th October 2023, of maps of the relevant areas and of the above-mentioned Order of 2008 (and of any Orders which have amended that Order) can be requested via email during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made at Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

5. Copies of the Orders may be purchased from the address mentioned in paragraph 4 above.

6. Any person desiring to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to any of the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which any of the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
