1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) have made The Enfield (Prescribed Routes)(No. 6) Traffic Order 2023 under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2.
The general effect of the Orders will be to ban motor vehicles from entering the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice, during certain times of the day. This will be achieved by making those lengths of road a pedestrian and cycle zone. Barriers may be placed at entry points to the zone. The pedestrian and cycle zone and any barriers can be in operation on Mondays to Fridays, although in practice it is anticipated that they will only operate in school term-time when the relevant traffic signs are showing.3.
Access permit holders’ vehicles will be permitted entry to the pedestrian and cycle zones and access permit holders’ vehicles that are already in a length of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice before the pedestrian and cycle zone commences will be permitted to leave. Access Permits will be available to properties within or accessible via the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.4.
A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 9 October 2023, and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order can be inspected at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX, Monday to Fridays 9am – 5pm inclusive, or online at: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/roads-and-transport/traffic-management-orders/ until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.Copies of the notice, order and Statement of Reasons can also be obtained by calling the above telephone number, by emailing traffic@enfield.gov.uk or by writing (quoting reference TG/1512) to Traffic and Transportation, Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD.
5.
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.Dated 27 September 2023
