The East Sussex (U5152 Mountfield Road, Lewes) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Mountfield Road – from the junction with B2193 Priory Street for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 3 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 3 and 5 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7527 Barkham Lane, Piltdown) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Barkham Lane – from the junction with U7517 Sharpsbridge Lane to Barkham Manor.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 29 September 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 29 September 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C3 Crowborough Road, Duddleswell/Nutley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Crowborough Road – from the junction with A22 High Street to the junction with B2026 Duddleswell Road.

The Order commences 2 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Albany Road – from the junction with U5479 Claremont Road to the junction with U5478 Connaught Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5479 Claremont Road – U5478 Connaught Road and vice versa. The Order commences 2 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow Open Reach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Church Road – from the junction with C8 Font Hill to the junction with U5004 Allington Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C8 Church Road – A272 High Street – A272 Western Road – C651 Oxbottom Lane – U5653 Cornwell’s Bank – C8 Font Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 3 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 and 4 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closure Chapel Lane – from the junction with B2102 High Street to Keepers Cottage.

The Order commences 4 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:30hrs to 16:00hrs on 4 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closure Cricketfield – from no. 58 to the junction with P5851 Alexander Mead.

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure The Drove – from the junction with U5013 Ivors Lane to the junction with A275 The Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A275 The Street – A275 Cooksbridge Road – U5012 Hamsey Lane – C8 The Drove and vice versa.
The Order commences 13 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 23:59hrs to 05:00hrs between 13 and 16 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The Order commences 13 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A267 Mayfield Road, Five Ashes) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Mayfield Road – from the junction with A272 Summer Hill to the junction with U7584 Meres Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Mayfield Road – Wellbrook Hill – Mayfield bypass – Tunbridge Wells Road – Argos Hill – Tunbridge Wells Road – Frant Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A26 Eridge Road – Beacon Road – Uckfield Road – Five Ash Down – Mill Pond Road – A272 Budletts Lane – Station Road – High Street – Pound Green – Main Road – Summer Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 19 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 19 and 21 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5003 Jackies Lane, Newick/A272 Station Road, North Chailey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2023
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose the following restrictions;
Temporary Road Closure Jackies Lane – from the junction with A272 Station Road to Cox’s Farm.
Diversion via A272 Station Road – A272 Western Road – U5040 Harmers Hill – U5003 Jackies Lane and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 19 and 26 October 2023.
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit Station Road – from the junction with C651 Oxbottom Lane to the junction with C652 Lower Station Road.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 23 October and 16 November 2023.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Lewes 4b (part)) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023
To protect public safety during the creation of a wetland, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 24 March 2023 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Lewes 4b will be closed to all users between TQ 4114 0927 and TQ 4046 0893. An alternative route will be available north of Cockshut Stream via the grounds of the Lewes Priory Cricket club ground and Lewes Rugby club grounds as shown on the attached map and as signed on the ground.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 1 October 2023, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.
