Sandwell - Temporary Road Closures & 30mph Speed Restrictions

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Whitehall Road, Great Bridge, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Whitehall Road, Great Bridge between the two entrances to Wren Kitchens Distribution Centre. A diversion route will be signed via Ryders Green Road, Phoenix Street, Great Bridge Street, Great Bridge and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 04/10/2023 effective from 30/09/2023. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Grove Lane, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Grove Lane, Smethwick from the junction of Dudley Road to the junction of Grove Street (eastern side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed via Dudley Road, Halberton Street, Grove Street and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 06/10/2023 effective from 05/10/2023 (7:30 - 5am). Purpose – to provide access for Ericsson to a telecoms mast for testing and maintenance works.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Golds Hill Way, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Golds Hill Way, Tipton at the junction of the Black Country New Road (access for emergency services will be maintained and will be marshalled by dedicated site personnel to ensure safety. There will also be marshalled access to premises for the duration of the overnight closures, but only when safety permits). Golds Hill Way is a cul-de-sac and therefore, no diversion route will be required. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 03/10/2023 effective from 01/10/2023 (the closure will be in operation from 8pm each evening until 5am the following day). Purpose – to facilitate access to install new pole, cabinet and associated rigging and to further complete integration and testing of installation by WHP Telecoms. 

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Black Country New Road, Tipton) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2023 has made an order to impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the Black Country New Road, Tipton (southbound) for a distance of 300 yards in advance of the junction of Cliff Drive (northern side) to a distance of 50 yards past the junction of Golds Hill Way (southern side). The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 04/10/2023, effective from 01/10/2023. Purpose – to facilitate safe access to install new pole, cabinet, and associated rigging and to further complete integration/testing of installation by WHP Telecoms.
