ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (NEWBY BRIDGE TO CANNY HILL JUNCTION) (40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made the above-mentioned Order, under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A590 Trunk Road, in the Unitary Authority of Westmorland and Furness, in the County of Cumbria.

The effect of the Order is to impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the following sections of the A590 Trunk Road:

The eastbound and westbound carriageways, from the start of the Newby Bridge Dual Carriageway, to a point 33 metres east of the Canny Hill Junction.

This Order will revoke any and all other speed limit orders affecting the lengths of carriageway described above.

The speed limits will not apply to any vehicle being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue authority, or ambulance services, or to special-forces vehicles.
