WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL)
INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
WANTAGE ROAD, STREATLEY
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2023
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Wantage Road in Streatley between its junction with Rectory Road and its junction with Wallingford Road.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Wallingford Road (A329), A4130, A417, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for a crane to lift various components in and out of an inaccessible area.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 25th September 2023. It is envisaged that the closures will be in place on separate days, each taking place during the hours of 09.00 to 16.00. The first will be on 25th September 2023, the second is expected to be on 6th October 2023.
BURGHFIELD FOOTPATH 14, PARISH OF BURGHFIELD
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS ORDER 2023
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any use of the following footpath, namely Burghfield Footpath 14 in Burghfield, from its junction with Burghfield Footpath 24 to its junction with Mill Road.
The alternative route for all pedestrians affected by the Order is via Mill Road, Burghfield Road, and Burghfield Footpath 24, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Sustrans to enable works to resurface and widen the route which also accommodates National Cycle Network Route 4.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 9th October 2023. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 9th October 2023 and 10th January 2024. The Order shall remain in force for a period of six months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
