What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PILSWORTH ROAD, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Pilsworth Road, Bury - between Roach Bank Road & Jacksons Fold Barn The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works. The alternative route will be via Pilsworth Road, Bury Street, Bury New Road, Heap Brow & Moss Hall Rd. M66 junction 3 Slip Road diversions as follows:-

1) Pilsworth Road, Croft Lane, Hollins Brow, Manchester Road, Angouleme Way, Rochdale Road, Bury New Road, Heap Brow & Moss Hall Roa

2) M66 northbound, Bury New Road, Heap Brow, Moss Hall Road and/or Rochdale Road, Angouleme Way, Manchester Road, Hollins Brow, Croft Lane & Pilsworth Road

3) M66 southbound, M62 eastbound (junction 19), Queen Elizabeth Way, Hares Hill Road

4) M66 southbound, M62 westbound, (junction 17) Bury New Road, Manchester Road, Hollins Brow, Croft Lane & Pilsworth Road

The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Hollins Area, Bury) (Weight Restriction) Order 2011 will be temporarily revoked to facilitate these diversions. The Order will come into operation on Sunday 24 September 2023 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 2 weeks (overnight working, 8pm-6am). NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-Avondale Drive, Brooklands Road and Kendal Road The reason for the proposed order is gas works

The alternative route will be via local diversions which will be in place as and when required by the works.

The Order comes into operation on 27/09/2023 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 4 weeks. Dated 21/09/2023 Council Solicitor

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough has made the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:-

20MPH SPEED LIMIT APPLYING TO THE FOLLOWING STREETS: CLIFFORD DRIVE AREA - WALMERSLEY

A copy of the Order which comes into operation on Monday 4th December 2023, a plan showing the roads and areas affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order may be requested by email at traffic. calming@bury.gov.uk quoting reference TM34/20/9. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks of 4th December 2023 apply to the High Court for that purpose. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
