Green Lane - Road Closure to Allow for Works Taking Place on or Near the Road.
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CREATE A TEMPORARY
TRAFFIC ORDER FOR PLANNED WORKS
AFFECTING: GREEN LANE, HANWELL.
Ealing Council intends to make the following
temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order
for planned works - TT 4026 Green Lane, Hanwell - 2023.
Reason for order
This order is needed to allow for works taking place on
or near the road. These works involve Thames Water
upgrading its water supply network.
Effect of order
Green Lane will be closed from its junction with Lower
Boston Road to the end of Green Lane which is adjacent to
14 Green Lane and the footbridge under 3 phases:
Phase 1: From outside 1 Green Lane to 47 Green Lane -
16th October 2023 to 3rd November 2023.
Phase 2: From the junction of Churchfield Road to
property number 85 Green Lane from 6th November 2023
to 17th November 2023.
Phase 3: From the junction of St Margaret’s Road 14 Oak
Cottage Green Lane from 20th November 2023 to
30th November 2023.
1. Waiting, loading, and unloading restrictions will be
applied on Green Lane on its eastern and western kerb
line from the Fox Inn Public House to property
number 14 Green Lane from 20th November 2023 to
30th November 2023. During these dates, waiting,
loading, or unloading restrictions will apply at the
locations as specified in this order and will be enforced
with the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice.
2. These restrictions and prohibitions will apply at
the specified locations where appropriate
“nowaiting cones” are placed along the length
of the affected public highway.
3. The following temporary restrictions on vehicle
movements will take effect from 16th October 2023.
(a) No entry into the fully closed section of Green Lane.
(b) No waiting, loading, or unloading on either side of
the carriageway within the fully closed section.
4. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will
only apply at specified locations where appropriate
traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance
with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
5. While the temporary restrictions are in place,
displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed
in place to reach their destinations and comply with any
traffic management measures.
6. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer
in uniform or a police community support
officer (PCSO).
(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or
ambulance.
Date order will come into force.
16th October 2023
Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 15th April 2025, or
upon completion of works which is expected to be
30th November 2023 - whichever is sooner. All dates are
subject to weather and are indicative.
