What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC135393227: The City of Manchester (Great Bridgewater Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Great Bridgewater Street, outside number 70. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Lower Mosley Street, Windmill Street, Mount Street, Peter Street, Oxford Street & Oxford Street, Peter Street, Deansgate, Great Bridgewater Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 24th September 2023 only. The order shall come into operation on 24th September 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC000135435952: The City of Manchester (Jacksons Row, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary No waiting and No Loading) No Time Limit Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict vehicular traffic on Jackson’s Row between Deansgate and the Old Nags Head Public House. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate the adjacent development. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 25th September 2023 to 31st July 2027. The order shall come into operation on 25th September 2023 and may remain until such time that it is revoked. ORDER NO. MCC135382803: The City of Manchester (Piccadilly, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic & No Left Turn) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Piccadilly One Way Northbound from Station Approach to Paton Street on 27th September 2023 at 22:00hrs & Southbound from Newton Street to Auburn Street on 28th September 2023 at 22:00hrs. (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be signed appropriately for each directional closure. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order carriageway patching works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 26th September 2023 to 29th September 2023 between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 each night. The Order shall come into operation on 26th September 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
