What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL 

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): 

ORDER NO. MCC135642000: The City of Manchester (Peter Street, Lower Mosley Street inbound, Mount Street, Windmill Street, Southmill Street, Museum Street, Marron Place, Jerusalem Place, Watson Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffi c Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffi c on Peter Street, Lower Mosley Street inbound, Mount Street, Windmill Street, Southmill Street, Museum Street, Marron Place, Jerusalem Place, Watson Street, & Access only on Oxford Street Bale Street, Hall Street and Trafford Street. Deansgate Ward. The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally. 

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the construction of the Island Site and restrict vehicle movement in the area for Conservative Party Conference 2023. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th September 2023 to 6th October 2023. 

The order shall come into operation on 27th September 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
