Public Footpaths In Cuerden - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS FP0912001 & FP0912002 CUERDEN, CHORLEY BOROUGH AND FP0704005 & FP0704006 FARINGTON, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER (2) 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Public Footpaths indicated below:-

FP0704006 Farington, South Ribble & FP0912001 Cuerden, Chorley, from Farington Road at Point A (SD 3545 – 4249) in a generally easterly direction for approximately 440 metres to Point B (SD3550 – 4249)

FP0912002 Cuerden, Chorley & FP0704005 Farington South Ribble, from Point C (SD 3550 – 4247) in a generally westerly direction for approximately 335 metres to Point D (SD 3546 – 4247), then in a generally southerly direction for approximately 230 metres to Point E (SD 3547 – 4245) and continuing in a generally westerly direction for approximately 158 metres to Point F (SD 3545 – 4245).

The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works

The Order will be operative from the 19th September, 2023, for a period of 6 months or until he works are completed within this period.
