Oxfordshire, Multiple Roads, Amendments To Speed Limits

What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(ASHBURY PARISH) (20 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in support of road safety issues - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Ashbury replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in the process, leading out of the village to the following points:

1. B4000 Station Road (northern end) - a point 40 metres northwest of its junction with Pound Piece,

2. B4000 Ashbury Hill (southern end) - a point 175 metres south of its junction with the B4507 / High Street,

3. B4507 Walnut Trees Hill - a point 120 metres northeast of its junction with Wixes Piece,

4. Idstone Road - a point 300 metres southwest of College Farm Lane. Also included are the following specific lengths of road:

5. Kingstone Winslow - for its entire length,

6. the unnamed road leading southwards from Kingstone Winslow to Kingstone Upper Mill - for its entire length,

7. Station Road - from its junction with Kingstone Winslow, south-westwards to its junction with the B4000.

Additionally, a 20mph speed limit will be introduced within the hamlet of Idstone, extending out to the following points:

8. the unnamed road leading south-westwards to Bishopstone (southern end) - a point 35 metres southwest of its junction with the access to 'Rectory Farm',

9. the unnamed road leading south-westwards to Bishopstone (northern end) - its junction with the unnamed road leading to Lower Idstone Farm,

10.the unnamed road leading to Lower Idstone Farm - its junction with the unnamed road

leading south-westwards to Bishopstone. Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 06 October 2023. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. (Ref: CM/12.6.112)

(THE BALDONS PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under

the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the order - in support of road safety issues - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit within the Baldons replacing the majority of the existing 30mph speed limit in the process, leading out to the following points:

Marsh Baldon:

1. Baldon Lane - a point 325 metres northeast of its junction with the A4074,

2. The Croft - a point 415 metres north of its junction with The Green. Toot Baldon:

3. The unnamed road running through Toot Baldon:

a. Western end - a point 115 metres southwest of its junction with the unnamed road running through Baldon Row,

b. Eastern end - a point 775 metres northeast of its junction with Wilmots.

Existing lengths of 30mph speed limit will remain on Baldon Lane leading north-eastwards from the A4074, and on The Croft between the two hamlets, with Officers having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads) (The Baldons Parish) Order 1999 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.

(KINGSTON BAGPUIZE WITH SOUTHMOOR AND LONGWORTH PARISHES) (SPEED LIMITS) 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in support of road safety issues - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit within Longworth, replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in its entirety in the process, leading out to the following points:

1. Appleton Road - a point 425 metres east of its junction with Harris's Lane,

2. Hinton Road - a point 110 metres west of its junction with Pine Woods Road,

3. Pine Woods Road - a point 155 metres south of its junction with Hinton Road. Speed limits in Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor remain unaffected by these proposals. The Oxfordshire County Council (Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor and Longworth Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2022 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.
