Canterbury, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 CANTERBURY AREA

CENTRAL PARADE, HERNE BAY. CT6 5NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow block paving, signing and planting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Central Parade, Herne Bay, on or after 30th September 2023, with estimated completion by 20th October 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Pier Avenue to Station Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Central Parade, Dolphin Street, High Street, Avenue Road, Lane End, Central Parade and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

MILLSTROOD ROAD, WHITSTABLE. CT5 1PS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Millstrood Road, Whitstable, on or after 9th October 2023, with estimated completion by 3rd November 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A2990 Thanet Way to the junction with Golden Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Millstrood Road, Old Bridge Road, The Bridge Approach, Castle Road, Church Street, A2990 Thanet Way and vice versa.

RIVERDALE ROAD, CANTERBURY. CT1 1BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Riverdale Road, Canterbury, from 19.00 hours on 28th September 2023, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 29th September 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Sturry Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

This closure is in conjunction with temporary traffic lights on Sturry Road.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

SWEECHBRIDGE ROAD, HERNE BAY. CT6 6TQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow vegetation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sweechbridge Road, Herne Bay, on or after 10th October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 15.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with May Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Sweechbridge Road, Heart In Hand Road, Margate Road, Margate Road Interchange, Margate Road, Mickleburgh Hill, Blacksole Bridge, Mickleburgh Hill, Reculver Road and vice versa.

TURKS HILL & KINGSWOOD, KINGSTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow new ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Turks Hill & Kingswood, Kingston, on or after 25th September 2023 with estimated completion by 13th October 2023, or until the works have been completed.

Turks Hill will be closed from the junction with Kingswood to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Kingswood will be closed from the junction with Turks Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kingswood, Lynsore Court, Westwood Road, Turks Hill and vice versa.

WESTBERE LANE, WESTBERE. CT2 0HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow new service works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Westbere Lane, Westbere, on or after 10th October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 6A, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Westbere Lane, Bushy Hill Road, A28 Island Road, Staines Hill and vice versa.
