Various Locations - Electric Vehicle Recharging Point And Car Club Parking Provisions In “A, “B” And “F” Zones

What is happening?

CITY OF WESTMINSTER AMENDMENTS TO ELECTRIC VEHICLE RECHARGING POINT AND CAR CLUB
PARKING PROVISIONS IN “A, “B” AND “F” ZONES (VARIOUS LOCATIONS)

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:
•     The City of Westminster (A Zone) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*
 •     The City of Westminster (Car Club Parking Places) (No.*) Order 202*;
•     The City of Westminster (Electric Vehicle Recharging Points) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;
•     The City of Westminster (Motorcycle Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;
•     The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (B Zone) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;
•     The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (F Zone) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* and
•     The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*.
2.     The general effect of the Orders would be to:
 (a)     introduce electric vehicle fast recharging bays (maximum stay of 4 hours between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., no return on the same day) at the following locations:
(i)     on the south-west side of Beaumont Street, outside Regis House, No. 47, replacing two shared-use parking spaces (10.5 metres);
 (ii)     on the north-east side of Berners Street, outside Orwell House, Nos. 16 to 18 and Bischheim House, Nos. 19-20, replacing two shared-use parking spaces (10 metres);
 (iii)     on the north-west side of Chapel Street, opposite West End House, Nos. 38 - 47A, replacing two shared-use parking spaces (10.5 metres);
(iv)     on the north-west side of Charlwood Street, adjacent to Noel Coward House, No. 65 Vauxhall Bridge Road, replacing two residents’ parking spaces (10.5 metres) - the remaining residents’ parking space would be extended south-westward, replacing 1.5 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions;
 (v)     on the north-east side of Eaton Square (the north-easternmost arm), outside St Peter’s Church, replacing two car club parking bays (10 metres) - the car club parking bays will be relocated to the south-east side of Eaton Square (the central north-east to south-west arm) 35 metres south-west of its junction with Hobart Place, replacing 10.5 metres of motorcycle parking;
(vi)     on the north-west side of Foley Street, outside John Astor House, replacing one pay-by-phone parking bay (5.4 metres);
 (vii)     on the north-east side of Great Cumberland Place, opposite the entrance to Marble Arch Car Park, replacing two car club parking bays (13.4 metres);
 (viii)    on the south-west side of Park West Place, outside Park West, replacing two car club parking bays (12 metres);
 (ix)     on the north-east side of Sussex Place, opposite Nos. 1 to 23 Sussex Lodge, replacing two car club parking bays (9.8 metres) - the car club parking bays would be relocated to adjacent to No. 9 Gloucester Square, replacing two pay-by-phone parking bays (10 metres);
 (x)     on the south-west side of St George’s Drive, adjacent to No. 33 Warwick Square, replacing two residents’ parking spaces (10.5 metres) - the existing pay-by-phone parking place would be extended by 1.8 metres; and
(xi)     on the south-west side of Wilton Road, outside No. 105 Wilton Road, replacing two car club parking bays (10 metres);
(b)     introduce car club parking bays:
(i)     on the north side of Bryanston Street, outside York House, No. 40, replacing 2 pay-by-phone parking bays (12 metres);
 (ii)     on the north-east side of Norfolk Crescent, opposite 
the south-eastern arm of Cambridge Square, replacing
two shared-use parking bays (11.6 metres); and
 (iii)     on the north-west side of Gillingham Street, outside No. 10, replacing 10.9 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions;
(c)     introduce 6.5 metre lengths of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions on both sides of Cabbell Street, outside and opposite Edgware Road Underground Station, replacing single yellow line waiting restrictions; and
(d)     extend the residents’ parking place on the south-west side of Porchester Terrace, outside Nos. 40 and 42, replacing one electric vehicle recharging bay (5.5 metres).
3.     The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/ notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). 5. Any objections or other representations about the 
proposal should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, WSP Traffc Order Team, 3rd Floor, WSP House, 70 Chancery Lane, London, WC2A 1AF, or by email to tmo.westminster@wsp.com quoting reference 8013-03/CM by 11th October 2023. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
