West Gate, Ealing - Temporary Traffic Order For Planned Works
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CREATE A TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER FOR PLANNED WORKS AFFECTING: WEST GATE, EALING.
Ealing Council intends to make the following temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for planned works – TT 3998 West Gate, Ealing - 2023.
Reason for order
This order is needed to allow for works taking place on or near the road. These works involve SCS Railways & Murphy Group diverting a large gas main.
Effect of order
1. West Gate’s cycle lane on its northern kerb line from Westgate Underbridge to a point outside Kantar Business Unit (junction of Hangar Lane) will be suspended from 16th October 2023 until 15th May 2024.
2. The waiting, loading, or unloading of vehicles on the extent of West Gate on the northern and southern kerb line from junction Hanger Lane to Westgate Underbridge from which the prohibitions and restrictions apply at any time from 16th October 2023 until 15th May 2024, will be enforced with the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice or vehicle(s) being removed and relocated.
3. West Gate will be closed from Manhattan Business Park to a point where the slip road connects with Western Avenue from 16th October 2023 to 15th May 2024.
4. Car Club Bay located outside West Gate House; West Gate will be suspended from 4th December 2023 until 15th May 2024.
5. Loading Bays on West Gate at the side of Selco Builders Warehouse will be suspended from 16th October 2023 until 27th January 2024.
6. The following temporary restrictions on vehicle movements will take effect from 16th October 2023.
(a) No entry into the fully closed section(s) of West Gate.
(b) No waiting, loading, or unloading on either side of the carriageway within the fully closed section(s).
7. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
8. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.
9. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).
(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance.
Date order will come into force. 16th October 2023
Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 1st April 2025, or on completion of the works, which is expected to be 15th May 2024, whichever is sooner.
