Callerton Lane (Callerton Parkway) - Road Traffic Regulation to Introduce a 40mph Speed Limit
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (CALLERTON LANE (CALLERTON PARKWAY)) SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2023
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 7th September 2023 Newcastle City Council made an Order under Sections 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 2nd October 2023 is to -
(a) introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following length of road - Callerton Lane (Callerton Parkway) between Ponteland Road (B6918) and the southbound slip road on the A696;
(b) revoke the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Black Callerton (Callerton Parkway)) Speed Limit Order 2018.
3. If you wish to view the documents relating to the Order (including the draft Order, Map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order), please email a request to streetworks@newcastle.gov.uk Alternatively, please telephone (0191) 2787878 to request a copy of the documents.
4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 7th September 2023, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
