What is happening?

PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
(BUS SHELTER INSTALLATION SCHEME PHASE 1) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, WAITING, LOADING, UNLOADING & MOVEMENT OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that Plymouth City Council acting under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), intend to make an Order the effect of which is:

1. To close the bus lane on:
• Exeter Street - travelling in a Westerly direction from the junction of Moon Street to the outside Leonardo Hotels
• Cobourg Street - travelling in a Northerly direction from outside Discovery Heights to outside Beckley point

2. To suspend the taxi rank on
• Exeter Street - travelling in a Westerly direction at the front boundary of The Barcode 
• Union Street - travelling in a Westerly direction at the front boundary of Wing City 
• Union Street - travelling in a Westerly direction at the front boundary of Walkabout

3. To prohibit the driving of vehicles in:
• Whitleigh Green - from the junction of Budshead Road to the junction of St Chad Close

4. To suspend the one way system on:
• Whitleigh Green - from the junction of Budshead Road to the junction of St Chad Close

5. To prohibit the movement of pedestrians:
• Moon Street - no access to Exeter Street

The prohibition of driving, waiting, loading, unloading & movement of pedestrians will be in operation on the days and during the hours that the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

The Order shall come into force on 9th October 2023

It is anticipated that the phased Bus Shelter Installation Scheme will commence on the 9th October 2023 until 20th October 2023 09:30 - 15:30 only
