(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER NUMBER 2 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily close the following roads and footways in Blyth in the County of Northumberland and therefore vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited to use those roads and footways as described below:-
The Order is to be effective from the 2nd October 2023 until the 29th November 2024
Road Closures:-
U9503 Post Office Street from its junction with B1329 Bridge Street heading north for a distance of 20 metres.
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.
U1327 Union Street from its point 25 metres south of junction with the U9503 Rink Street heading south for a distance of 80 metres.
The diversion route will be via the B1327 Union Street, C412 Plessey Road, Wellington Street, B1329 Bridge Street and vice versa.
U9511 Parsons Street from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 45 metres.
The diversion route will be via the B1327 Union Street, C412 Plessey Road, Wellington Street, B1329 Bridge Street and vice versa.
U9511 Havelock Street from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 45 metres.
The diversion route will be via the B1327 Union Street, C412 Plessey Road, Wellington Street, B1329 Bridge Street and vice versa.
Footway Closures:-
U9503 Post Office Street east side footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading north of a distance of 20 metres.
U9503 Post Office Street west side footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading north of a distance of 20 metres.
U1327 Union Street east side footway from its point 25 metres south of junction with the U9503 Rink Street heading south for a distance of 40 metres.
U1327 Union Street west side footway from its point 25 metres south of junction with the U9503 Rink Street heading south for a distance of 40 metres.
U1327 Union Street east side footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 40 metres.
U1327 Union Street west side footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 40 metres.
B1329 Bridge Street north side footway from its junction with the U1327 Union Street heading west for a distance of 95 metres.
B1329 Bridge Street south side footway from its junction with the U1327 Union Street heading west for a distance of 65 metres.
B1329 Bridge Street south side footway from its junction with the U9511 Havelock Street heading west for a distance of 30 metres.
U9511 Parsons Street footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 45 metres.
U9511 Havelock Street east side footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 45 metres.
U9511 Havelock Street west side footway from its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 45 metres.
Pedestrian diversion routes for all footway closures will be via barriered footways erected in the carriageway.
It is expected that the roads and footways will only be closed from the 2nd October 2023 until the 15th November 2024 and that the roads and footways will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 29th November 2024.
This Order will hereby further introduce a one-way traffic restriction and all vehicular traffic should travel in the direction as shown below:-
One-Way System:-
A one-way system will be in operation and all vehicular traffic will be required to travel in a northbound direction from its point 20 metres north of its junction with the B1329 Bridge Street heading northwards to its junction with the B1327 Union Street a distance of 80 metres.
This will be in operation 24 hours per day every day and will be effective from and including 2nd October 2023 until 15th November 2024.

The closures and one way restriction have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out carriageway re-surfacing and footpath construction works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
