VARIOUS HIGHWAYS AND FOOTWAYS IN BLYTH TOWN CENTRE -
BLYTH TOWN CENTRE REFURBISHMENT
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER NUMBER 1 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intend to make an Order to temporarily close the following roads and footways in Blyth in the County of Northumberland and therefore vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited to use those roads and footways described below:-
The Order is to be effective from the 2nd October 2023 until the 29th November 2024.
Road Closures:-
B1328 Bridge Street from its junction with the B1329 Inner Relief Road heading west for a distance of 350 metres.
The diversion route will be via the B1329 Inner Relief Road, Regent Street, Hodgsons Road, A193 Cowpen Road, B1328 Waterloo Road and vice versa.
The diversion route for Arriva buses will be via B1327 Union Street, C412 Plessey Road, Wellington Street, B1329 Bridge Street.
U9724 Percy Street from its junction with Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 40 metres.
The diversion route will be via U9724 Percy Street, U9724 Carlton Street, Beaconsfield Street, C412 Plessey Road, Wellington Street - B1329 Bridge Street, Regent Street and vice versa.
U9513 Stanley Street from its junction with Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 35 metres.
The diversion route will be via U9513 Stanley Street, C412 Plessey Road, Wellington Street, B1329 Bridge Street, Inner Relief Road, Regent Street, Hodgsons Street, A193 Cowpen Road, Renwick Road, Broadway, B1327 Plessey Road, U9724 Park Road, B1329 Ridley Avenue, C412 Wellington Street, Plessey Street, U9513 Stanley Street and vice versa.
Footway Closures:-
B1328 Bridge Street northside footway from its junction with B1329 Inner Relief Road heading west for a distance of 160 metres.
B1328 Bridge Street southside footway from the gable end of 46 - 50 Bridge Street heading westwards for a distance of 95 metres.
B1328 Bridge Street southside footway from its junction with Percy Street to its junction with Stanley Street Percy Street Back Lane for a distance of 25 metres.
B1328 Bridge Street southside footway from its junction with Stanley Street Percy Street Back Lane to its junction with Union Street for a distance of 115 metres.
U9724 Percy Street eastside footway from its junction with Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 40 metres.
U9724 Percy Street westside footway from its junction with Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 55 metres.
U9513 Stanley Street eastside footway from its junction with Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 35 metres.
U9513 Stanley Street westside footway from its junction with Bridge Street heading south for a distance of 35 metres.
Pedestrian diversion routes for all footway closures will be via barriered footways erected in the carriageway.
It is expected that the roads and footways will only be closed from the 2nd October 2023 until the 15th November 2024 and that the roads and footways will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 29th November 2024.

The closures have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out carriageway re-surfacing and footpath construction works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
