What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) (AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS ACT 1991) DEFINITIVE PUBLIC FOOTPATHS WALSALL 40 AND WALSALL 41 (PART) BETWEEN WHATELEY ROAD AND HARDEN ROAD (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the Definitive Public Rights of Way known as Footpath 40 Walsall and Footpath 42 Walsall (part), between Whateley Road and Harden Road. The alternative route for pedestrians affected by this order will be along Whateley Road, Ross Road and Harden Road. Access to the footpaths will be unavailable for the duration of residential development and associated works by Avant Homes, under the approved development planning reference 22/1367, from 00:00am on 22 August 2023. The Order will remain in force for up to a maximum period of 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. It is anticipated that the works will take 6 months to complete, and the footpath will remain closed for the full 6 months closure period until 22 March 2024. Closure during this period is necessary in the interests of public safety during completion of the Avant Homes residential development and associated works, within and directly adjoining the public right of way.
