Derby City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY ONE WAY ORDER ON OLD HALL ROAD AND TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON THORNHILL ROAD, DERBY

WHEN: 18 September 2023 to 22 September 2023 WHERE Old Hall Road, in a southerly direction only, between its junction with Burton Road and its junction with Church Street. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will be re-opened as soon as the work is finished. DERBY CITY COUNCIL made these Traffic Regulation Orders on the 14th day of September 2023, which will become effective from the 21st day of September 2023 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of schedule 9 to the 1984 Act.

The purpose of the Orders is to bring into effect the following:
Prohibition of driving of motor vehicles (Mon-Fri 8.30am – 9am and 3.00pm – 3.45pm) (Permit Holder Exemption)

• On Thornhill Road from its junction with Burton Road to its junction with Old Hall Road
• On Church Street from its junction with Shepherd Street to its junction with Old Hall Road

No Waiting At Any Time
On Old Hall Road along the eastern side of the carriageway opposite number 2 and 6.

No Waiting (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm)
On Old Hall Road along the eastern side of the carriageway opposite number 8 and 12.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of these Orders on the grounds that they are outside the powers of the Acts or because it does not comply with any requirement or regulations made under it, may, within six weeks of the date of the Orders apply to the High Court for this purpose.
