What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A6011 LADY BAY BRIDGE, WEST BRIDGFORD & CITY OF NOTTINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023 (R23-144)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe and the City of Nottingham.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of roads 
a. A6011 Lady Bay Bridge, West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe - from its junction with Radcliffe Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 520 metres.
b. A6011 Lady Bay Bridge, in the City of Nottingham - from a point 520 metres north-west of its junction with Radcliffe Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 181 metres
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
For 20 minutes before and 20 minutes following the end of any event held at the City Ground stadium
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes available will be:
North bound - A6520 Radcliffe Road - A60 Loughborough Road - Trent Bridge - London Road (Nottingham) - A6011 Cattle Market Road - County Road - Meadow Lane South bound - Meadow Lane - London Road (Nottingham) - Trent Bridge -- A60 Loughborough Road -A6520 Radcliffe Road

The Order will come into force on Monday 18th September 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary. The Order shall continue in force for a maximum period of 18 months.
The prohibition is required to enable the police to arrange for the safe dispersal of people from events held at the City Ground stadium.
