What is happening?
NORTH YORK MOORS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS HORSE-RIDERS AND CYCLISTS) Public Bridleway 27 Newton-on-Rawcllffe (Kale Pot Hole, Cropton Forest) (NYC path ref: 25.67/027) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) (as amended)
The North York Moors National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to make the following closure in the parish of Newton-on-Rawcliffe in the county of North Yorkshire:
Route to be temporarily closed: Public Bridleway 27
Newton-on-Rawcliffe No pedestrian, horse-rider or cyclist shall proceed along this bridleway commencing at Grid Reference SE 1540 9292 (Point A - junction with Public Bridleway 13 Newton-on-Rawcliffe), then heading in a generally north-easterly direction through Cropton Forest, the buildings at Kale Pot Hole and onto a junction with Public Bridleway 13 Newton-on-Rawcliffe (to Raper's Farm) at Grid Reference SE 8189 9330 (Point B), a total distance of 580 metres.Alternative route: Public Bridleway 13 Newton-on-Rawcllffe (part of)
The route commences at Grid Reference SE 8156 9299 (Point C) and follows a track through Cropton Forest to Grid Reference SE 8189 9330 (Point B), a distance of 460 metres. Marked in red on the map. The Order is necessary due to the danger to the public from tree felling works. The closure takes effect from 11 September 2023 and will be put into effect by means of the erection of notices and signs.
