What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping)

and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area)

(Amendment No.16) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To Revoke the existing 'Disabled Badge Holders Only' bay on the following road in the District of Maldon as specified:

Road: Keats Close, Maldon.

Description: From a point approximately 15.5 metres northwest of its junction with Wordsworth Avenue, southwest for a distance of approximately 5.3 metres.

Map Tile: TL850 057 Revision 0 to Revision 2.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting tile number TL850 057 Revision 0 to Revision 2.

(Various Roads, Great Totham)

(Restricted Roads and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the

above Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9

of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To Implement: a '40mph Speed Limit' buffer on the

following lengths of road, Great Totham, in the District of Maldon (currently

a Derestricted Road).

Road: Kelvedon Road

Description: From a point approximately 35 metres south of its junction with Walden House Road and Great Totham Road (where the existing 30mph Speed Limit ends), south for a distance of approximately 260 metres to its junction with Back Lane and Prince of Wales Road.

Road: Maypole Road.

Description: From a point approximately 340 metres southeast of its junction with School Road and Great Totham Road (where the existing 30mph Speed Limit ends), southeast for a distance of approximately 350 metres to a point approximately 10 metres south of the southernmost point of the boundary of the property called Marvens.

Road: Prince of Wales Road.

Description: From a point approximately 5 metres northwest of its junction with Catchpole Lane, northwest for a distance of approximately 260 metres to its junction with Kelvedon Road and Back Lane.

The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Great Totham) (Restricted Roads

and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 2007' is hereby revoked in its entirety. All

restrictions shall remain in force by virtue of this new Order.

(Fambridge Road, North Fambridge)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fambridge Road, North Fambridge in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Lower Burnham Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a south westerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2023 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEA73314597 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 14th September 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(School Road, Little Totham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Little Totham in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Church Lane to its junction with Park Wood Lane a distance of approximately 185m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2023 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN01331229 - Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal & reinstatement works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via School Road, Beckingham Street, Witham Road, Sawyers Road and vice versa (with access only into School Road).

The Order will come into effect on 14th September 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway &

Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit)

Order (No.4) 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Maldon as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in those lengths of road as specified in the schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 14th September 2023, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Road: New Hall Lane, Mundon.

Description: From its junction with Mundon Road to end of road.

Alternative Route: No diversion available.

Road: Vicarage Lane, Mundon.

Description: From its junction with New Hall Road to end of road.

Alternative Route: No diversion available.

Road: Fambridge Road (Kitts Hill), Cold Norton.

Description: From its junction with Latchingdon Road to its junction with Lower Burnham Road.

Alternative Route: Lower Burnham Road, Woodham Road, The Street, Stow Road, Latchingdon Road and vice versa.

Road: Hogwell Chase, Stow Maries.

Description: From its junction with Lower Burnham Road to end of road.

Alternative Route: No diversion available.

Description: From its junction with Limebrook Way to its junction with Maldon Road.

Alternative Route: From its junction with Lower Burnham Road to end of road.

Description: From its junction with Fambridge Road to its junction with Burnham Road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway &

Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) Order (No.5) 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Maldon as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of road as specified in the schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Walden House Road, Great Totham in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 45m south east of its junction with Kelvedon Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd October 2023 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WDNKM88L -Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new pole works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Walden House Road, Maldon Road, Prince Of Wales Road, Kelvedon Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th September 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Witham Road, Tolleshunt Major)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Witham Road, Tolleshunt Major in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 160m north west of its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 110m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd October 2023 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN01331228 - Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal & reinstatement works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Sawyers Road, School Road, Beckingham Street and vice versa (with access only into Witham Road).

The Order will come into effect on 14th September 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Langford Road, Wickham Bishops)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

& (Bridge Street/Newlands Street, Witham)

(Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction)

Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Langford Road, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 870m in a south easterly direction.

2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction to all traffic on Bridge Street, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Spinks Lane north eastwards to its junction with Mill Lane and Newlands Street, a total of approximately 280 metres as cited in 'The Essex County Council (Bridge Street & Newlands Street, Witham) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2009', the suspension is only in force during the above closure.

3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction to all traffic on Newlands Street, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bridge Street and Mill Lane, north-east to its junction with B1018 Maldon Road, a distance of approximately 382 metres as cited in 'The Essex County Council (Bridge Street & Newlands Street, Witham) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2009', the suspension is only in force during the above closure.

The closure/restrictions are scheduled to commence on 11th September 2023 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WDSL547K -Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole installation works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via:

1. Station Road, Maldon Road, Newlands Street, Bridge Street, Hatfield Road, Hatfield Road Southbound Slip to A12, A12 From J B1389 South of Witham to J B1019 North of Hatfield Peverel SW, The Street, Witham Road, Langford Road.

2. Langford Road, Witham Road, Hatfield Road, Maldon Road, The Street, North East Slip from Hatfield Peverel to A12, A12 J B1019 North of Hatfield Peverel Join NE, A12 From J B1019 Noth of Hatfield Peverel to B1389 South of Witham NE, Hatfield Road Northbound Slip from A12, Bridge Street, Newlands Street, Station Road.

The Order came into effect on 31st August 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
