What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(POTHOLE WORKS, BURTON JOYCE, CALVERTON, GEDLING AND WOODTHORPE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023 (G23-118)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Burton Joyce, Calverton, Gedling and Woodthorpe in the Borough of Gedling.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the lengths of roads found in paragraph 3:
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both sides, 08:00- 15:30) in the lengths of roads found in paragraph 3:
3. Phillip Grove, Gedling - for its full length of road. Marlborough Road, Woodthorpe - from its junction with Buckingham Road to its junction with Mansfield Road.
Whinbush Lane, Calverton - for its full length of road.
Park Road East, Calverton - from its junction with Bonner Lane to its junction with Crookdole Lane.
Lambley Lane, Burton Joyce - from its junction with Main Street to its junction with Brooklyn Avenue
Glen Road, Burton Joyce - for its full length of road.
4. Florence Road, Gedling - for its full length of road
5. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
6. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 08:00 hours on Monday 25th September 2023 Until 15:30 hours on Monday 9th October 2023
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Marlborough Road - Mansfield Road - Egerton Road - Woodthorpe Avenue & vice versa
Whinbush Lane - A614 Old Rufford Road - A615 Ollerton Road (Arnold) - B6386 Oxton Road and vice versa.
Park Road East - Bonner Lane - Main Street - Mansfield Lane - Crookdole Lane & vice versa Glen Road - Bridle Road - Foxhill Road - Padleys Lane - Main Street - Lambley Lane & vice versa
Florence Gedling - Stoke Lane - Burton Road & vice versa Lambley Lane - Glen Road - Bridle Road - Foxhill Road - Padleys Lane - Main Street - Lambley Lane & vice versa
The Order will come into force on 25th September 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out pothole repairs;
