Drumacre Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DRUMACRE LANE EAST DRUMACRE LANE WEST, LONGTON, SOUTH RIBBLE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the borough of South Ribble;
i. Drumacre Lane East, Longton from its junction with Land Lane to its merging with Drumacre Lane West.
ii. Drumacre Lane West from a point 154 metres west of its merging with Drumacre Lane East for a distance of 180 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibitions will be operative from the below times and dates on the lengths of highway specified in article 1;
i. Drumacre Lane East, Longton from 0800 hours to 1700 hours on Sunday 17th September 2023.
ii. Drumacre Lane East and Drumacre Lane West, Longton from 0800 hours to 1700 hours on Tuesday 19th September 2023.
Closures in Article 3 ii will not be taking place simultaneously.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures is via:
Drumacre Lane West
Drumacre Lane West – Liverpool Road – Chapel Lane – A59 Longton Bypass and vice versa.
Drumacre Lane East
Drumacre Lane East – Brownhill Lane – Chapel Park Road – A59 Longton Bypass and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow utility works to be carried out by networks plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
