What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A20 Ashford Road, Charing (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 40MPH speed limit on part of A20 Ashford Road, Charing, on or after 2nd October 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Wickens Lane and Old Ashford Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Church Road, Stone TN30 7JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Stone, on or after 18th September 2023 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of The Street and Top Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Catts Hill, Top Road and vice versa.
GIVAUDAN ASHFORD 10K ROAD RACE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow the Givaudan Ashford 10K Road Race event to take place on and near the highway, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Ashford.
Roads will be closed on a rolling basis as the race progresses, in the sequence shown below, starting and finishing in the Julie Rose Athletics Stadium in Ashford.
Closures are on Sunday 8th October 2023 starting from 08:50 hours until 11:10 hours, with roads re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Shadoxhurst Road, Woodchurch, on or after 2nd October 2023 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Allington. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bethersden Road, Front Road, Lower Road, Place Lane, Spot House Lane, Shadoxhurst Road and vice versa.
Swain Road, Tenterden TN30 6SH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Swain Road, Tenterden, on or after 4th October 2023 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Mid Kent Windows, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Ashford Road, A28 Silver Hill, B2067 Beacon Oak Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, B2067 Brook Street and vice versa.
Tenterden Road, Biddenden TN27 8DX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tenterden Road, Biddenden, on or after 2nd October 2023 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Benenden Road and Cranbrook Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Benenden Road, A262 Tenterden Road, A262 Biddenden Road, A28 Ashford Road, A28 Silver Hill, A28 Ashford Road, A28 East Cross, A28 High Street, A28 West Cross, A28 Rolvenden Road, Cranbrook Road and vice versa.
