TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2023

Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make two Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all traffic along the footpaths, footways and roads in the Schedule. The Orders are required to enable new 5G CityFibre works to take place in or near the footpaths, roads and footways. The Orders will come into operation on 2nd October 2023. The maximum duration of the closure under the Orders will be 6 months for the footpaths and 18 months for the roads and footways and the full duration will be required for the works, however it is estimated that each closure will only be in operation for approximately 2 days. All pedestrians will be prohibited from the footpaths and footways (except personnel involved in the works) and all vehicles, cyclists and horses will be prohibited from the roads (except vehicles and machinery involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Vehicular access for affected residents will be provided when essential or in an emergency and when the works are not in operation. Pedestrian access to affected properties will maintained be throughout. Alternative routes will be provided via the adjacent highway network.

Wentworth Drive, Silloth Drive, Portrush Close, Porthcawl Drive, Turnberry Close, Prestwick Close, Troon Close, Rosemount Close, Red Lion Lane, Sunningdale Drive, Lytham Close, Muirfield Drive, Coach Road, Nairn Close, Gleneagles Drive, Birkdale Close, High Croft and Selby Close.
