TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH (VARIOUS ROADS) (VARIATIONS OF SPEED LIMITS) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER NOTICE 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that Bridgend County Borough Council (“the Council”) proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order in exercise of its powers under
section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (“the Act”).
On 21 August 2023, the Council gave notice of its intention to make the Bridgend County Borough (Various Roads) (Revocations and Variations of Speed Limits) Traffic
Regulation Order (“the Proposed Permanent Order”). The key effect of the Proposed Permanent Order is to retain a 30-mph speed limit in various locations after the
reduction, on 17 September 2023, of the speed limit on restricted roads in Wales to 20-mph.
This Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is needed to cover the period between 17 September 2023 and the coming into force of the Proposed Permanent Order.
The locations at which it is proposed to retain a 30-mph speed limit are set out in Schedules 1 and 4 below. Schedule 2 specifies locations at which a 20-mph speed
limit is to be applied when signs indicate. Schedule 3 specifies a 20-mph speed limit at a single location which is to be designated as a restricted road under the
Proposed Permanent Order.
If this Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is made, it will come into effect on 17 September 2023 and expire on 16 March 2025 or on such earlier date that the Proposed
Permanent Order comes into force.
