Ashley Road, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Resurfacing Works
What is happening?

A24 Ashley Road and B290 Ashley Road, Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 06 September 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the southbound carriageway to:- a) A24 Ashley Road, Epsom that extends from its junction with B290 Ashley Road and A24 Ashley Avenue, for a distance of 50m. b) B290 Ashley Road, Epsom that extends from its junction with A24 Ashley Road and A24 Ashley Avenue, for a distance of 50m. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out traffic signal refurbishment and/or maintenance and/or highway maintenance and/or surfacing works. These works are anticipated to be carried out in phases, within 2 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 September 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times under direction of operatives and/or signs displayed on site.
Access for residents, businesses, emergency services, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- Ashley Avenue, South Street, Woodcote Road, Avenue Road, Worple Road and Ashley Road.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
