Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Bridgwater Fair Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Somerset Council intends to make an Order in pursuance of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions in Bridgwater as detailed in the Schedules below.

The Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of September 2023 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Order will be made to facilitate the Bridgwater Fair 2023 and is in the interest of public safety. The restrictions shall apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles and any vehicles associated with the event and by businesses or delivery vehicles requiring access and for any residents requiring access and egress. A copy of the draft Traffic Regulation Order and the associated plans can be examined at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO.

Between the hours of 0900 on Tuesday 26th September 2023

and 1000 on Sunday 1st October 2023

West Street, Bridgwater - from its junction with Broadway to its junction with Northfield in a south westerly direction for a distance of 442 metres.

Milton Place, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

St Matthews Green, Bridgwater- for its entire length.

Westover Green, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

St Matthews Field, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Between the hours of 0900 on Monday 25th September 2023 and

1000 on Sunday 1st October 2023

Durieigh Road, Bridgwater - from its junction with Northfield, in a south westerly direction to its junction with Woodbury Road. A distance of 500 metres.

Northfield, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Park Road, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Albert Street, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Westfield Close, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Halswell Close, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Haygrove Park Road, Bridgwater - for its entire length.

Temporary suspension of 3 Tonne Weight Limit

Between the hours of 0900 on Monday 25th September 2023

and 1000 on Sunday 1st October 2023

Statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
