What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A5183 WATLING STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A5183 Watling Street, St Albans from its junction with the A414 North Orbital Road/A405 North Orbital Road roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 350m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, A1081 London Road and A5183 (Holywell Hill/St Stephens Hill/Watling Street).
The Order is needed because ground investigation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GILLS HILL LANE, RADLETT) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gills Hill Lane, Radlett from its junction with Elm Walk north eastwards for a distance of approximately 54m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Gills Hill Lane, Willow Way, B462 Watford Road and Gills Hill Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BLOOMFIELD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER NO.2 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bloomfield Road, Harpenden from a point in line with the south west boundary of No.15 Bloomfield Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 48m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bloomfield Road, A1081 Luton Road, Hillside Road, Ambrose Lane and Bloomfield Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROTHAMSTED AVENUE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rothamsted Avenue, Harpenden from its junction with Salisbury Avenue south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Salisbury Avenue, Townsend Lane, Maple Road and Rothamsted Avenue.
The Order is needed because electrical repair works are proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN ST ALBANS) ORDER NO.4 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. the A414 London Colney longabout, St Albans from its junction with the westbound carriageway of A414 North Orbital Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 31m.
An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, the A414 London Colney roundabout and A414 North Orbital Road.
2. that length of Hill End Lane, St Albans from its junction with Frobisher Road south eastwards to its junction with Nightingale Lane, a distance of approximately 260m.
An alternative route will be via Hill End Lane, Highfield Lane, Highfield Park Drive and Nightingale Lane.
3. that length of Hill End Lane/Cell Barnes Lane, St Albans from its junction with Nightingale Lane south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 127m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WHEATHAMPSTEAD) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of B653 Codicote Road, Wheathampstead from its junction with the B653 Lower Luton Road/B651 Lamer Lane roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Codicote Road, a distance of approximately 332m.
An alternative route will be via B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/Wheathampstead Road/High Street/St Albans Road/Sandridge Road/Stonecross), A1081 St Peters Street, A1057 (Hatfield Road/ St Albans Road West), A1001 Comet Way, A6129 Stanborough Road and B653 (Stanborough Road/ Brocket Road/Marford Road/Cory Wright Way).
2. that length of B653 Lower Luton Road, Wheathampstead from its junction with the B653 Codicote Road/B651 Lamer Lane roundabout south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Wheathampstead Public Footpath No.056, a distance of approximately 1250m.
An alternative route will be via B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/Wheathampstead Road/High Street/St Albans Road/Sandridge Road/Stonecross), A1081 (St Peters Street/ Harpenden Road/St Albans Road), B652 Station Road and B653 Lower Luton Road or via B651 Lamer Lane, Kimpton Road, B651 (Ballslough Hill/High Street), B652 (High Street/Kimpton Bottom/Bower Heath Lane) and B653 Lower Luton Road.
3. the B653 Lower Luton Road/B651 Lamer Lane roundabout, Wheathampstead from its junction with B653 Codicote Road clockwise for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via B653 (Codicote Road/Cory Wright Way/Marford Road/ Brocket Road/ Stanborough Road), A6129 Stanborough Road, A1001 Comet Way, A1057 (St Albans Road West/ Hatfield Road), A1081 (St Peters Street/Harpenden Road/St Albans Road), B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road, B652 (Bower Heath Lane/Kimpton Bottom/High Street, B651 (High Street/ Ballslough Hill), Kimpton Road and B651 Lamer Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PARK AVENUE SOUTH/PARK AVENUE NORTH, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Park Avenue South/Park Avenue North, Harpenden from its junction with Badingham Drive north westwards for a distance of approximately 34m ("the length of Roads").
An alternative route will be via Park Avenue South, Maple Road and Park Avenue North.
The Order is needed because a mobile crane is required to lift a swimming pool into an adjacent property near the length of Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Station Road, Radlett from its junction with B462 Watford Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
An alternative route will be via B462 Watford Road, Park Road, A5183 Watling Street and Station Road or via Station Road, A5183 Watling Street and B462 Aldenham Road.
2. that length of B462 Watford Road/Aldenham Road, Radlett from a point 30m north west of its junction with Station Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 60m.
An alternative route will be via B462 Watford Road, Park Road, A5183 Watling Street and B462 Aldenham Road.
3. that length of Upper Station Road, Radlett from a point 30 metres south west of its junction with B462 Watford Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
An alternative route will be via Upper Station Road, The Crosspath, Aldenham Avenue, A5183 Watling Street and B462 Aldenham Avenue.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN RADLETT, ST ALBANS, COLNEY HEATH, HATFIELD AND HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Newberries Avenue, Radlett from its junction with Shenley Hill south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Williams Way, a distance of approximately 850m.
An alternative route will be via Shenley Hill and Williams Way.
2. that length of Puddingstone Drive, St Albans from its junction with Highfield Lane south westwards, south eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 135 m. An alternative route will be via Highfield Lane, Starlight Way and Puddingstone Drive.
3. that length of Bullens Green Lane, Colney Heath/Hatfield from its easternmost junction with Roestock Lane south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 120m. An alternative route will be via Roestock Lane, Tollgate Road and Bullens Green Lane.
4. that length of Lime Tree Place, St Albans from its junction with Grosvenor Road north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
5. that length of St Peters Close, St Albans from its junction with St Peters Street north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
6. that length of Vaughan Road, Harpenden from its junction with High Street north eastwards to its junction with Victoria Road, a distance of approximately 124m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, B652 Station Road and Victoria Road.
7. that length of Southfield Way, St Albans from its junction with Villiers Crescent south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
8. that length of Churchfield, Harpenden from its junction with Piggottshill Lane north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
9. that length of Green Lane, St Albans from its junction with Therfield Road south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 124m.
An alternative route will be via Green Lane, Batchwood Drive, A1081 London Road and Green Lane. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY 50MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS IN A414 NORTH ORBITAL ROAD, COLNEY HEATH) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 50mph on that length of A414 North Orbital Road, Colney Heath from a point 135m north east of its junction with Highfield Lane north eastwards to its junction with the A414 London Colney Longabout ("the Road"), a distance of approximately 1703m.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
