What is happening?

SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL

SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:

(STR000698 HAM ROAD, UPPER WANBOROUGH) This Order is being introduced for Network Plus works and will impose a restriction on driving on Ham Road at the junction with Church Road.

Traffic to be diverted vii Church Road, Callas Hill, Ridgeway, King Edwards Road, Ham Road and vice versa. Effective on the 16 October 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated the works are taking place on the 16 and 20 October 2023. (STR000647 LONDON ROAD AND STATION ROAD, SWINDON) This Order is being introduced for public realm and highway improvement and will temporarily introduce a 20mph speed restriction, overnight road closure, footway closure and parking bay suspensions on London Street and Station Road from the junction with Emyln Square/Bristol Street to Beales Close. During the night time road closure diversion to be signed according to other road works taking place. Effective on the 25 September 2023 for 12 months. (STR000703 HAM ROAD, UPPER WANBOROUGH) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER works and will impose a restriction on driving on Ham Road at the junction with Church Road. Traffic to be diverted vii Church Road, Pack Hill, Commonhead Roundabout, Purley Road and vice versa. Effective on the 16 October 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated the works are taking place on the 16 to 18 October 2023. (STR000674 OLD VICARAGE LANE, SOUTH MARSTON) This Order is being introduced for Network Rail to carry out bridge inspection works and will impose a restriction on driving on Old Vicarage Lane at the junction with the A420. Traffic to be diverted via the A42O, Thornhill Road, Old Vicarage Lane and vice versa. Effective on the 23 October 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated the works are taking place on the 23 and 24 October 2023.

(STR000715 MILTON ROAD AND CHESTER STREET, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced for works at Health Hydro and will impose a restriction on driving on the alleyway between Milton Road and Chester Street and suspension of parking bays on Chester Street. Effective on the 1 October 2023 for 18 months but it is anticipated the restrictions are only required until the 7 October 2024.

(STR000667 WOLSLEY AVENUE, PARK SOUTH) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Wolsley Avenue between Queens Drive and Leighton Avenue. Traffic to be diverted via Cranmore Avenue, Whitbourne Avenue and Queens Drive and via Queens Drive, Rushton Avenue, Cranmore Avenue. Effective on the

25 October 2023 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place on the 25 October 2023 between the times of 9am to 6pm. (STR000713 PROW FPATHS 8 AND 22 WANBOROUGH) This Order is introduced to allow for the construction of the Southern Connector Road and will temporarily close PROW footpath WA8 and PROW footpath WA22 between western side of the Southern Connector Road and the A419. No alternative route available. The Order comes into force on the 14 September 2023 for 6 months.
