PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC/SUSPENSION OF BUS GATE ORDER

TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY

RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this
notice to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road
Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or proposed to be executed on or near the
roads and the effect will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, proceeding or waiting in those lengths of Wood
Street and Printing Office Street in the City of Doncaster District and suspend the Bus Gate Order on Cleveland
Street as described in the Schedule to this notice on the dates and times referred to in the said Schedule
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the workforce whilst works to remove the road surface
and reinstate new to finish level in stages throughout the closure on nights only are undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order is as described in the Schedule
to this notice. Those residents and businesses directly affected by the works are to be notified of the scheme to
include access arrangements.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of the waiting restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the
provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Any contravention of the prohibitions or
restrictions imposed by this Order may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued and the subsequent
removal of a vehicle.

The Proposed Order will continue in force up to and including the 31st day of October 2023 or until the works
which it is proposed to carry out in or near the said roads have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

SCHEDULE

Locations
1) Close Wood Street from its junction with Cleveland Street to its junction with Waterdale
2) Suspend the Bus Gate Order on Cleveland Street, Doncaster to allow all traffic
3) Close Printing Office Street from its junction with Cleveland Street to its junction with Priory Place.
Dates and Times
On or after 18th September 2023 until 29th September 2023. Between 19:00hrs and 06:00hrs only. Only one
road to be closed at any one time.
In the event of engineering difficulties and/or adverse weather conditions, the closure may extend beyond this date
although all closures to be completed by the 31st October 2023.
Diversion Routes
1) Chequer Road, College Road, A638 Trafford Way, Cleveland Street
3) No alternative route
