What is happening?

TELFORD & WREKIN COUNCIL 

(HORTONWOOD AREA, TELFORD) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough of Telford & Wrekin in exercise of its powers HAS MADE an Order under Sections 82, 83, 84 and IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act hereby makes the following Order. This Order will come into operation on 11th day of September 2023. The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 40mph speed limit along the length(s) of road(s) shown in Schedule below: Schedule - 40mph 1) Hortonwood 40, for its entire length. 2) Hortonwood 45, for its entire length. 3) Hortonwood 50, for its entire length. 4) Hortonwood 60, for its entire length. 5) Hortonwood 65, for its entire length. Documents detailing the particulars of the Order may be inspected from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday at any Council office or at www.telford.gov. uk/TRO on the link to Traffic Orders. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. The purpose of the proposed Order is bring the above listed main roads in line with the other main roads that are currently 40mph within the same area.
