What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (WOODSMOOR LANE, WOODSMOOR) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport made an Experimental Traffic Order on 31 August 2023 under Sections 9, 10 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be to introduce an experimental No Waiting at Any Time Order at Woodsmoor Lane, South East side, from a point 5 metres North East of the North Eastern kerb line of Claremont Road in a South Westerly direction to a point 5 metres South West of the South Western kerb line of Claremont Road. North Western side, from a point 10 metres North East of the (projected) North Eastern kerb line of Claremont Road for a distance of 21 metres in a South Westerly direction. The order will come into force on 13 September 2023 and will operate for a period of up to eighteen months and the Council will be considering in due course whether its provisions should continue in force indefnitely. If you wish to object to the provisions of the order being established on a permanent basis, you should send your objection in writing to the undersigned within 6 months of the 13 September 2023 quoting reference ZA/3095.If you wish to question the validity of the order or if any provisions in it on the grounds that they are not within the powers confrmed by the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the order you may, within six weeks from the 6 September 2023 apply for the purpose to the High Court.
