What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (MARINA DRIVE AND STOCKPORT ROAD, MARPLE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 31 August 2023 made an Order under the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Road Traffc Act 1991 which came into operation on the 1 September 2023. The effect of the Order will be to introduce Prohibition of Waiting at Marina Drive, Both sides: From the northern kerb line of Stockport Road for a distance of 11 metres in a northerly direction. Stockport Road, North side: From a point 16 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Marina Drive to a point 18 metres west of the western kerb line of Marina Drive. Full details of these proposals are set out in the draft Order which, together with the map and statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport SK1 3XE. A copy of this Notice and the Plan can also be viewed on the Council’s website at https://www.stockport.gov.uk/proposed/-traffc-regulations-in-your-area Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
