Tunbridge Wells, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

A229 Horns Road, Hawkhurst TN18 4QU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of UKPN works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 Horns Road, Hawkhurst, on or after 11th September 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Delmonden Lane and A229 The Moor/Hastings Road.

The alternative route is via A229 Horns Road/Merriments Lane, A21 London Road, A268 Hawkhurst Road/High Street, A229 Highgate Hill/Moor Hill/Horns Road and vice versa.

 

B2079 Balcombes Hill/Bedgebury Road, Goudhurst TN17 1AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2079 Balcombes Hill/Bedgebury Road, Goudhurst, on or after 25th September 2023 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Tiddymotts Lane and Lizard Cottage.

The alternative route is via A262 The Plain, A262 West Road, A262 Clayhill, A262 Station Road, A262 Spelmonden Road, A262 Goudhurst Road, A262 Horsmonden, A21 London Road, A21 Lamberhurst Bypass, A21 Hastings Road, A21 London Road, Flimwell, B2079 Lady Oak Lane and vice versa.

 

B2188 Fordcombe Road, Fordcombe TN3 0RB (TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

For the safety of the public and workforce during Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order for temporary mandatory speed limit of 40mph to be imposed on a section of B2188 Fordcombe Road, Fordcombe, from the junction of A264 Ashurst Road for 400 yards in both directions.

The works are planned between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs on 27th September 2023 for 1 day.

 

Castle Road, Tunbridge Wells. TN1 1DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of drainage works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Castle Road, Tunbridge Wells, on or after 25th September 2023 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed and the one way system suspended between A26 London Road and Mount Edgcumbe Road.

The alternative route is via A26 London Road, A264 Church Road, Castle Road and vice versa.

 

Dowding Way, Tunbridge Wells. TN2 3DN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of carriageway works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Dowding Way, Tunbridge Wells, on or after 2nd October 2023 for up to 4 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length.

The alternative route is via Longfield Road, Lamberts Road and vice versa.

 

Goddards Green Road, Benenden TN17 4AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Goddards Green Road, Benenden, on or after 1st October 2023 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Bayeaux.

The alternative route is via Goddards Green Road, Benenden Road, Cranbrook Road, Tenterden Road, Golford Road and vice versa.

 

Grovehurst Lane, Horsmonden TN12 8AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of drainage works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grovehurst Lane, Horsmonden, on or after 15th September 2023 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Crackhill Cottages.

The alternative route is via Grovehurst Lane, Haymans Hill, B2162 Maidstone Road, The Heath, Goudhurst Road and vice versa.

 

HOSPICE IN THE WEALD 5K & 10K RUN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Kent County Council has made an Order for the safety of the public whilst an event is being held on the highway to temporarily prohibit the use of Vehicles on:-

Castle Road - All     

Church Road – from Mount Ephraim to London Road A26    

Mount Ephraim - From the junction of Castle Road and the road turns into Bishops Down A264

Bishops Down A264 - All

Langton Road - From Bishops Down to the junction of The Green and Broom Lane

Holmewood Ridge – All

Broom Lane - All

Hillswood Road - From junction of Broom Lane to Fairview Lane

Fairview Lane - From the junction of Hillswood Road to High Rocks Lane

High Rocks Lane – All

Hungershall Park – All

Major Yorks Road – All

Nevil Park Road – All

Groombridge Hill - All

Withyham Road – From Groombridge Hill to junction of Florance Lane and Hendal Hill

Hendal Hill - All

Cherry Gardens Hill - All

Corseley Road – From Cherry Gardens Hill to Forge Road

Forge Road - All

Groombridge Lane - From junction of Forge Road to the junction of Eridge Road and The Forstal

Eridge Road – From Groombridge Lane to Park Corner Lane

Park Corner Lane - All

Broadwater Forest Lane - From Station Road to junctions with Hillswood

The Order will become effective on 17 September 2023 between 09.00hrs and 12.30hrs.  The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs in operation.

Nothing in the Order will apply to:

•  Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services.

•  Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair.

•  Anything done with the permission or at the direction of Event Organisers or a Police Constable in Uniform.

 

Lidwells Lane, Goudhurst TN17 1EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lidwells Lane, Goudhurst, on or after 28th September 2023 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Blind Lane and B2079 North Road.

The alternative route is via B2079 North Road, Blind Lane and vice versa.

 

Pearsons Green Road, Paddock Wood TN12 7DF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pearsons Green Road, Paddock Wood, on or after 28th September 2023 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Old Hay.

The alternative route is via Pearsons Green Road, Mile Oak Road, Pixot Hill, Crook Road and vice versa.

 

Stone Street, Cranbrook. TN17 9EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stone Street, Cranbrook, on or after 26th September 2023 for up to 1 night between 19.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 9.

The alternative route is via Stone Street, High Street, A229 Angley Road, Waterloo Road and vice versa.

 

Wellington Road, Hawkhurst TN18 5EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wellington Road, Hawkhurst, on or after 29th September 2023 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 10 and 14.

The alternative route is via Wellington Road, Slip Mill Lane, Wellington Cottages and vice versa.

 

Yew Tree Green Road, Horsmonden TN12 8HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Yew Tree Green Road, Horsmonden, on or after 13th September 2023 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Shire Horse Barn.

The alternative route is via Yew Tree Green Road, Crook Road, Pearsons Green Road, Churn Lane, B2162 Maidstone Road and vice versa.
