What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

Blendon Road, Maidstone.​ ME14 5PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Blendon Road, Maidstone, on or after 11th September 2023, with estimated completion by 9th October 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Alkham Road and Cowden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Alkham Road, Hampton Road, Guston Road and vice versa.

 

Church Road, Chart Sutton.​ ME17 3RE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow new electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Chart Sutton, on or after 11th September 2023, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Chart Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Road, Warmlake Road, Chart Hill Road, Chart Road and vice versa.

 

Commodore Road, Maidstone.​ ME14 5PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Commodore Road, Maidstone, on or after 25th September 2023, with estimated completion by 27th October 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Alkham Road and Marston Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Alkham Road, Snowdon Avenue, Marston Drive and vice versa.

 

East Sutton Road, East Sutton.​ ME17 3DH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow overhead structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of East Sutton Road, East Sutton, on or after 26th September 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Parsonage Farm Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Chartway Street, Workhouse Lane, Friday Street, Heniker Lane, East Sutton Road and vice versa.

 

Green Lane, Chart Sutton.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Green Lane, Chart Sutton, on or after 13th September 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Chart Hill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is:-

Diversion Route 1:- Chart Hill Road, Forge Lane, Lucks Lane, Green Lane and vice versa.

Diversion Route 2:- Chart Hill Road, Green Lane.

 

Headcorn Road, Ulcombe.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Headcorn Road, Ulcombe, on or after 25th September 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Crumps Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Headcorn Road, Pye Corner, Eastwood Road, Lenham Road, Ulcombe Road, Headcorn Road and vice versa.

 

Love Lane, Headcorn.​ TN27 9HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow cabling and poling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Love Lane, Headcorn, on or after 11th September 2023, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bounty House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Love Lane, Smarden Road, Love Lane and vice versa.

 

The Green, Bearsted.​ ME14 4DN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow sewer repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Green, Bearsted, on or after 11th September 2023, for up to 10 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Church Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Green, Church Lane, The Street, The Green and vice versa.

 

West Street & Church Road, Harrietsham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of West Street and Church Road, Harrietsham.

West Street will be closed from 25th September 2023, for up to two days.

West Street will be closed between Goddington Lane and Hook Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Church Road will be closed from 26th September 2023, for up to one day.

Church Road will be closed between A20 Ashford Road and Stede Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic for West Street is via West Street, A20 Ashford Road, Hook Lane, West Street and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic for Church Road is via Church Road, A20 Ashford Road, Church Lane, Marley Road, Church Road and vice versa.
