What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SOUTHDOWN ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Southdown Road, Harpenden from its junction with Crabtree Lane north westwards to its junction with Bull Road, a distance of approximately 443m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Southdown Road, Walkers Road, A1081 St Albans Road and Bull Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRANCH ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Branch Road, St Albans from its junction with Camlet Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 98m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Branch Road, Mount Pleasant, Kingsbury Avenue, A5183 (Verulam Road/Folly Lane) and Branch Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS.58-68 WHEATHAMPSTEAD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.58-68 Wheathampstead Road, Harpenden from its junction with Aldwick Road south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS IN A1081 ST ALBANS ROAD, HARPENDEN/A1081 HARPENDEN ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A1081 St Albans Road, Harpenden/A1081 Harpenden Road, St Albans from its junction with the Bull Road roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 4605m ("the length of Roads"). The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE NORTH SIDE ON NO.32A OFFAS WAY, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the north side on No.32a Offas Way, St Albans from its junction with Offas Way north westwards to its junction with B651 The Hill ("the Footpath"), a distance of approximately 106m.
There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 September 2023 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN CHISWELL GREEN, ST ALBANS, ELSTREE AND HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-1. the northbound carriageway of A405 North Orbital Road, Chiswell Green from its junction with the Tippendell Lane roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the A5183 Watling Street roundabout, a distance of approximately 924m.
An alternative route will be via A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road), A41 (North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue Colne Way/Otterspool Way/Elton Way/Tylers Way), A411 (Elstree Road/Watford Road) and A5183 (High Street/Elstree Hill North/Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street/Radlett Road/ Frogmore/Park Street/Watling Street).
2. that length of A4147 Bluehouse Hill, St Albans from its junction with the A5183 Redbourn Road/Batchwood Drive roundabout south westwards to its junction with the King Harry Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 1118m.
An alternative route will be via A5183 (Redbourn Road/St Albans Road/Redbourn Bypass/Dunstable Road), the M1, A414 Breakspear Way and A4147 (Leverstock Green Way/Leverstock Green Road/ Hemel Hempstead Road) or via A4147 (Hemel Hempstead Road/ Leverstock Green Road/Leverstock Green Way), A414 Breakspear Way, the M1, A5 (unnamed road) and A5183 (Dunstable Road/ Redbourn Bypass/St Albans Road/Redbourn Road) or via A5183 (Redbourn Road/Folly Lane/Verulam Road/High Street/Holywell Hill/St Stephens Hill/Watling Street), A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road), A41 (North Western Avenue/ Watford Road), A4251 (Watford Road/High Street/Hempstead Road/ London Road), A414 (Two Waters Way/Two Waters Road/St Albans Road) and A4147 (Leverstock Green Way/Leverstock Green Road/ Hemel Hempstead Road).
3. that length of A5183 Watling Street, Elstree from its junction with B5378 Allum Lane north westwards to a point 39 metres south east of its junction with Butterfly Lane, a distance of approximately 1356m.
An alternative route will be via A5183 (Elstree Hill North/High Street), A411 (Watford Road/Elstree Road), A41 (Tylers Way/Elton Way/Otterspool Way/North Western Avenue Colne Way/North Western Avenue), A412 St Albans Road, A405 (St Albans Road/ North Orbital Road) and A5183 (Watling Street/Park Street/ Frogmore/Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street) or via A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street/Frogmore/Park Street/ Watling Street), A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans), A412 St Albans Road, A41 (North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue Colne Way/Otterspool Way/Elton Way/Tylers Way), A411 (Elstree Road/ Watford Road) and A5183 (High Street/Elstree Hill North).
4. that length of A1081 St Albans Road, Harpenden from its junction with the Walkers Road/B487 Redbourn Bypass roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Beesonend Lane, a distance of approximately 1067m.
An alternative route will be via A1081 (St Albans Road/High Street/Luton Road/London Road/New Airport Way), A505 (Kimpton Road/Windmill Road/Park Viaduct/Chapel Viaduct/Dunstable Road/ Luton Road/Church Street), A5183 (High Street South/London Road/Watling Street/London Road), A5 (unnamed road), A5183 (Dunstable Road/Redbourn Bypass/St Albans Road/Redbourn Road/Folly Lane), A4147 Folly Lane/Catherine Street) and A1081(St Peters Street/Harpenden Road).
5. that length of Piggottshill Lane, Harpenden from its junction with the Alzey Gardens/Wheathampstead Road roundabout north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
6. that length of House Lane, St Albans from its junction with the Sandpit Lane roundabout north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Sandringham Crescent, a distance of approximately 737m.
An alternative route will be via Sandpit Lane, Marshalswick Lane, and B651 (St Albans Road/High Street/House Lane). The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B652 STATION ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B652 Station Road, Harpenden from its junction with Carlton Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 60m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road, B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/ Wheathampstead Road/High Street/St Albans Road), Beech Road, A1081 (Harpenden Road/St Albans Road) and B652 Station Road.
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF QUEEN STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER NO.2 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Queen Street, St Albans from its junction with Spicer Street north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Lower Dagnall Street, a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via Spicer Street and Lower Dagnall Street.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN ALDENHAM, BUSHEY, LETCHMORE HEATH AND RADLETT DURING THE 'JANMASHTAMI FESTIVAL') ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-
a) that length of Primrose Lane, Aldenham from its junction with B462 Radlett Road south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Summerhouse Lane, a distance of approximately 518m.
b) that length of The Spinney, Aldenham from its junction with Primrose Lane westwards for its entire length.
c) that length of Round Bush Lane, Aldenham from its junction with B462 Radlett Road south eastwards to its junction with Primrose Lane, a distance of approximately 196m.
d) that length of Sandy Lane, Bushey from its junction with A41 Tylers Way south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Little Bushey Lane, a distance of approximately 330m.
e) that length of Hilfield Lane, Bushey from its junction with B462 Radlett Road south eastwards to its junction with A41 Tylers Way, a distance of approximately 3092m.
f) that length of Aldenham Road, Letchmore Heath from its junction with Butterfly Lane north westwards to its junction with The Green, a distance of approximately 1472m.
g) that length of The Green, Letchmore Heath from its junction with Aldenham Road north westwards to its junction with Grange Lane, a distance of approximately 274m.
h) that length of Back Lane, Letchmore Heath from its junction with Aldenham Road north westwards to its junction with Common Lane, a distance of approximately 217m.
i) that length of Common Lane, Letchmore Heath/Radlett from its junction with Grange Lane north eastwards to its junction with The Ridgeway, a distance of approximately 1040m.
j) that length of Back Lane, Letchmore Heath from its northernmost junction with The Green north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
There are no alternative routes available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in these roads will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.
2. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of Grange Lane, Letchmore Heath from its junction with Summerhouse Lane south eastwards to its junction with Common Lane, a distance of approximately 623m, when signs are in place.
3. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of B462 Radlett Road, Aldenham from its junction with New Road south westwards to its junction with Hilfield Lane, a distance of approximately 2078m, when signs are in place.
4. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from A41 Tylers Way into Hilfield Lane, Bushey, when signs are in place.
5. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from Hilfield Lane into A41 Tylers Way, Bushey, when signs are in place.
The Order is needed to ensure public safety and prevent traffic congestion for the duration of the 'Janmashtami Festival'.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

An alternative route will be via B652 Bower Heath Lane, B653 Lower Luton Road, B651 (Lamer Lane), Kimpton Road, B651 (Ballslough Hill/High Street) and B652 (High Street/Kimpton Bottom/Bower Heath Lane).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 September 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
